The cost of shipping a car from Vancouver depends on the distance, the size of the vehicle, the transport method and the time of year. Transit across the country usually takes one to two weeks. See our Canadian car shipping page for more about domestic vehicle transport.

Export Your Car From Vancouver
The Port of Vancouver connects Canada with the world, which makes it a natural place to export a vehicle. We ship cars from Vancouver in containers, where they are secured and protected for the voyage, or by RoRo shipping where available.
Before export, vehicles must be reported to the Canada Border Services Agency at least 72 hours before they leave the country. You will need the vehicle title or ownership, a bill of sale if it was purchased, and your ID. We guide you through every document.

Exporting a Car With Vancouver Car Shipping
Every vehicle leaving Canada must be reported to the Canada Border Services Agency at least 72 hours before it departs, with the ownership documents ready to show. Our Vancouver car shipping team files the export report for you and checks the paperwork before your car reaches the port.
You will need the original ownership or title, a bill of sale if the car was bought recently, and photo ID. If the vehicle is financed, the lender may need to approve the export. See the CBSA export guide for the full rules.
Inside Canada no export report is needed: we simply book the truck or rail space, inspect the car at pickup and keep you updated until it is delivered.

How much does it cost to ship a car from Vancouver to Toronto?
The price depends on the size of your vehicle, the transport method, pickup and delivery locations and the season. Request a quote with your vehicle and route and we will send you an exact price.
How long does it take to ship a car from Vancouver?
Shipping a car from Vancouver to Toronto usually takes about one to two weeks. International shipments depend on the destination, sailing schedules and customs clearance, and typically take several weeks.
Can you ship my motorcycle from Vancouver?
Yes. We ship motorcycles from Vancouver across Canada and overseas, crated or uncrated depending on the route.
What documents do I need to export a car from Vancouver?
You need the vehicle ownership or title, a bill of sale if the car was purchased, and photo ID. The vehicle must also be reported to CBSA at least 72 hours before export, which we help you arrange.
Do I have to be present when my car is picked up?
You or someone you trust should be there to hand over the keys and sign the vehicle inspection. If that is not possible, you can drop the car off at our facility instead.
Is Vancouver car shipping open or enclosed?
Most cars travel on open carriers, which is the most economical option. Enclosed transport is available for classic, luxury and low-clearance vehicles.
Can I ship belongings inside my car?
For domestic transport, most carriers ask that the car is empty apart from standard equipment. For container shipping overseas, some personal items may be packed with the car; ask us first.
How do I prepare my car for shipping?
Wash it so the inspection is accurate, leave about a quarter tank of fuel, remove valuables and toll tags, and note any existing damage.
